The GSX-S 1000 is a naked bike of the Japanese manufacturer Suzuki . It was presented at the EICMA 2014. With similar dimensions as the GSR 750 but a significant extra power Suzuki closes the displacement gap between the GSR and the GSF 1250 "Bandit". The engine comes from a previous version of the GSX-R 1000 (K5) and was throttled to a rated output of 107 kW (145 hp) to increase the torque in the lower and middle speed range. An anti-lock system is standard equipment. Also a multi-level traction control . In the variant GSX-S 1000 F the motorcycle is equipped with a full fairing.

Drive  
The liquid-cooled four - cylinder engine is installed transversely. In the cylinder head of the four-stroke engine rotate two chain-driven, overhead camshafts , which drive two intake and two exhaust valves per cylinder. The engine from the GSX-R 1000 version K5 has been significantly revised. Cam, piston and throttle body have been weight optimized and improved. Radiator and exhaust system have been redeveloped. So the oil cooler is now liquid cooled. A switchable, three-stage traction control (sport, road, rain), the response in different driving conditions can be controlled.

Suspension  
The aluminum profile rear swing arm is suspended in an aluminum bridge frame . The front axle is installed in an upside-down fork . The front suspension is adjustable in tension and compression and in the preload, the rear wheel is adjustable in preload and rebound. The brake calipers on the front axle are mounted radially.

Market Situation  
Suzuki places the GSX-S1000 in the Naked Bikes Segment. Motorcycles with comparable engine design and chassis layout are Honda CB 1000 R , Kawasaki Z 1000 , Yamaha FZ 1 and BMW S 1000 R.

                           Piaggio Skipper    Piaggio skipper The  Piaggio Skipper  is a large scooter built by the Italian vehicle manufacturer Piaggio between 1993 and 2002. The skipper was introduced in May 1993 in Nice.   But since the name Skipper was protected by trademark law in Germany, the vehicles were initially offered under the name SKR.   The version with 150 cm³ presented in June 1993 was revised in 1994 and was only available in Germany at the end of 1996, whereby all models with a new seat, darker plastic parts, more modern lettering and new colors were upgraded optically.   The production was stopped in 1997.
